Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh says that Andhra Pradesh is emerging as a destination for speed-driven industrial execution and investor-friendly governance.

Mr. Lokesh was speaking at the commissioning of the 600-MW AC solar power project of SAEL Industries in Kadapa district on Friday.

It is one of the first large-scale renewable energy projects to be completed under the State’s Integrated Clean Energy Policy-2024 in a record 11 months.

Built with an approximate investment of ₹3,000 crore, the project comprises two 300-MW AC solar facilities developed by SAEL subsidiaries — SAEL Solar MHP1 Private Limited and SAEL Solar MHP2 Private Limited — in nearly 2,400 acres.

The project will supply renewable power directly to the national grid under 25-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), thus supporting India’s long-term clean energy transition, besides strengthening the country’s renewable power capacity.

“It is a matter of pride for Andhra Pradesh that the first project under the ICEP-2024 is now commissioned. SAEL’s 600 MW solar project in Rayalaseema reflects the speed, confidence, and execution capability of our State. Our government is committed to positioning Andhra Pradesh as India’s clean energy capital, with a target of attracting ₹10 lakh crore in green energy investments over the coming years,” Mr. Lokesh said.

He further said that Andhra Pradesh was rapidly emerging as a national hub for renewable energy, green manufacturing, storage technologies, and future-ready industrial ecosystems.

Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar recalled the State’s efforts to create a reliable and affordable energy infrastructure, capable of supporting its expanding industrial base and future energy requirements.

SAEL Industries co-founder and Director Sukhbir Awla called Andhra Pradesh as having become a “key growth engine” in India’s renewable energy transition that continued to inspire long-term investor confidence in clean energy infrastructure.

Company CEO & Executive Director Laxit Awla said the successful commissioning within an accelerated timeline reflected the company’s execution strength, which he attributed to the State’s proactive support.

Minister for Handloom & Textiles S. Savitha, legislators C. Adinarayana Reddy (Jammalamadugu) and Putha Krishna Chaitanya Reddy (Kamalapuram), district Collector Sridhar Cherukuri, and TDP district president C. Bhupesh Reddy were present.
