A spell of rain on Saturday brought Bengaluru’s traffic to its knees once again, with flooding, fallen trees and vehicle breakdowns triggering congestion across several parts of the city.

While no major flooding incidents were reported, commuters found themselves stuck in slow-moving traffic for hours, with many struggling to find cabs and autorickshaws amid surge in the price.

According to the Bengaluru Traffic Police, traffic movement was affected on Koramangala 60 Feet Road towards Canara Bank Circle and at the RRMR Junction towards Hudson Circle after trees fell on the roads. The weekend rush further added to the congestion across the city, the police said.

The flooding at the Panathur Junction resulted in congestion on the stretch towards Kadubeesanahalli, while a vehicle breakdown near Arekere Junction slowed traffic towards the HSBC Junction. Traffic was also affected on the road near Varthur Lake towards Varthur Kodi. 

Several parts of Bengaluru south and central, including C.V. Raman Nagar, Gandhinagar, Malleswaram and Frazer Town, received moderate rainfall. In contrast, parts of north and east Bengaluru experienced only light showers.
