AIG Hospitals has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Saturday. The pact is aimed at strengthening India’s healthcare research ecosystem and advancing digital health initiatives.
The collaboration brings together AIG Hospitals’ clinical expertise and innovation platforms with ICMR’s national research network and policy leadership. The partnership is expected to focus on accelerating research in digital health, healthcare delivery models, and translational medicine, with an emphasis on generating scalable solutions for India’s evolving healthcare needs.
AIG Hospital Chairman D. Nageshwar Reddy said the collaboration aligns with the institution’s vision of integrating clinical care with research and innovation. He noted that digital health has significant potential to transform healthcare delivery in India and that the partnership would help ensure such innovations remain patient-centric while being scalable for wider populations.
Under the agreement, both institutions will undertake joint research studies, co-develop grant proposals, and explore national and international funding opportunities. The collaboration will also involve organising academic events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, alongside efforts to disseminate research findings through digital platforms. Regular review mechanisms are expected to guide the partnership and align it with national healthcare priorities.
Dr Rajiv Bahl, Director General, ICMR said that partnerships between leading clinical institutions and national research bodies are crucial to addressing complex healthcare challenges. He added that such collaborations help generate high-quality evidence, foster innovation, and ensure that research translates into tangible benefits for patients and the broader healthcare system.
