Following the State Cabinet’s decision to revise land values across Telangana and the rise in registrations, the government has decided to extend working hours at select Sub-Registrar offices from May 12 to 15 to avoid inconvenience to public.
According to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, working hours at 15 heavily-crowded Sub-Registrar offices will be extended from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. The offices include Champapet, Saroornagar, Vanasthalipuram, Gandipet, Maheshwaram, Farooqnagar, Shadnagar, Rangareddy Rural, LB Nagar, Serilingampally, Sangareddy, Ghatkesar, Nalgonda R.O., Patancheru and Qutbullapur.
He stated that the government was prepared to extend the timings further if necessary, depending on the rush of registrations.
The Minister also instructed officials to increase the number of slot bookings to meet public demand. Authorities were asked to identify other Sub-Registrar offices across the State witnessing heavy registration activity and extend working hours wherever required. In addition, officials were directed to coordinate with Tahsildar offices where agricultural land registrations are being carried out to ensure seamless services.
He instructed the Registration Department IG Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu to take all necessary steps to maintain transparency, efficiency, and public convenience in the registration process.
