The Mysuru district police have reported an encouraging response to the ongoing special drive offering a 50% concession on pending traffic fines, with 1,081 cases settled and ₹2.52 lakh collected in the first four days of the campaign, from Sunday to Wednesday.

The rebate scheme, introduced following a State government notification, came into effect on Sunday and will remain in force until July 10. Under the initiative, motorists can clear pending traffic violation cases by paying only 50% of the prescribed penalty.

In a press release, the district police said vehicle owners can avail themselves of the concession at police stations across the district, through the KSP Fine mobile application and via the online payment portal.

Official statistics show that 292 cases were settled on June 21, 140 on June 22, 294 on June 23 and 355 on June 24, generating total revenue of ₹2.52 lakh.

The Additional Superintendent of Police urged motorists with pending traffic violation notices to make use of the one-time concession before the July 10 deadline.

The police also noted that, on June 24 alone, 41 pending cases involving a two-wheeler and 10 pending cases involving a car were disposed of after the vehicle owners cleared the fines under the concession scheme.
