Kadapa:

SAEL Industries Ltd. (SIL) is investing about ₹1,200 crore to set up another 300 MW solar power plant at T. Koduru village in Kondapuram mandal of Kadapa district. The company has already invested around ₹830.40 crore in a 207.60 MW solar power plant at Diguvakalvatala village in Peddamudium mandal of the same district in February.

The new plant will be inaugurated by IT Minister Nara Lokesh on Thursday, (May 22, 2026). District Collector Sridhar Cherukuri, Superintendent of Police Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) zonal coordinator R. Srinivasa Reddy inspected the arrangements at the plant premises on Wednesday (May 20, 2026), ahead of the inauguration.

The company has acquired 1,542 acres of private patta land on a 30-year lease at T. Koduru village under the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy (AP ICE) Policy, 2024. Of the proposed 600 MW, around 507.6 MW has been set up in Kondapuram and Peddamudium mandals of the district, and the remaining 92.4 MW in Uyyalawada in Nandyal district.

It is a matter of pride for Andhra Pradesh that the first project under our forward-looking Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 is now being commissioned.
