A total of 550 final-year Degree students of Andhra Loyola College (ALC) on Sunday completed a six-day Mahindra Pride–Naandi Foundation Placement Training Programme, aimed at enhancing employability skills and preparing students for campus recruitment opportunities.

Six trainers sponsored by the Naandi Foundation conducted the training, proving intensive coaching in aptitude, communication, interview preparation, and essential soft skills required for professional success. The soft skills component focused on self-awareness, professional communication, resume preparation, interview skills, mock interviews, group discussions, job opportunities, and project presentations. Aptitude training covered key topics such as percentages, speed mathematics, number systems, profit and loss, time-speed-distance, time and work, calendars and blood relations.

ALC Correspondent Fr. Francis Xavier and Principal Fr. S. Melchior expressed gratitude to the Naandi Foundation for its continued support in strengthening students’ employability through industry-oriented training initiatives.

The programme was coordinated by Placement Officer Dr. G. Sahaya Baskaran. As many as 26 outstanding participants were recognised as “Star Performers” and presented with mementos and prizes. Certificates of participation will be distributed to all students who completed the programme.

Vice Principals Fr. Vijaya Kumar, Dr. Balaji, and Fr. Arul Jothi were also present at the valedictory programme and congratulated the students on their successful completion of the training.

Students described the programme as highly beneficial in improving their confidence and readiness for placements. The college Head Girl and a final year B.Sc. Zoology student Sowmya said the training significantly strengthened her interview skills and confidence while also supporting her aspirations to pursue the UPSC examination. Samantha and Varshita of III BBA appreciated the sessions on ATS-based resume preparation and group discussions, while Anjali of III B.Sc. noted that the aptitude shortcuts and problem-solving techniques had boosted her confidence to participate in IT campus recruitment drives.
