Online OP ticket booking system fully operational in govt...
2026-05-14 · via The Hindu: Latest News today from India and the World, Breaking news, Top Headlines and Trending News Videos.

The online outpatient (OP) ticket booking system through eHealth has become fully operational in government healthcare institutions in Wayanad district, District Medical Officer (Health) K.T. Rekha has said.

Patients no longer need to stand in queues at hospitals for OP tickets. Using a UHID (Unique Health ID), outpatient consultations and services at hospitals can now be booked online.

To make these services easily accessible to the public through mobile phones, the “MeHEALTH” mobile application has been launched.

Users can generate their UHID through the app by entering their Aadhaar number. OP tickets for any government hospital in Kerala can be booked through the application. The app also helps users locate nearby hospitals within a 10-km radius and provides the distance to each facility. Routes to hospitals are also available through Google Maps integration in the app.

The application allows users to identify hospitals with speciality doctors and book appointments easily. Information regarding laboratory tests and their rates, blood banks, pay wards, radiology services, and ambulance facilities can also be accessed instantly. Details of health centres, government homoeopathy hospitals, and Karunya pharmacies are also available on the app.

Users can download and install the “MeHEALTH” app from the Google Play Store. They can log in using their phone number and OTP. Aadhaar details can then be entered in the app to generate a UHID. Through this, users can book OP tickets and prior appointments online. Required services can be selected through the “Nearby Service” option on the home page of the app.

Those who have not yet obtained a UHID can bring their Aadhaar card to hospitals and receive assistance from health workers to create one. Dr. Rekha urged the public to make use of the digital system to access government hospital services more quickly and conveniently with reduced waiting time.
