The Sports Complex at Ukkunagaram buzzed with energy on Thursday as the Annual Summer Coaching Camp 2026 was officially inaugurated.
The event, aimed at nurturing young talent and promoting physical fitness, saw a good turnout of aspiring young athletes, coaches, and parents. The camp offers structured training across 13 different sports- athletics, badminton (shuttle), basketball, boxing, chess, cricket, football, hockey, kabaddi, lawn tennis, roller skating, volleyball, and yoga.
The camp was formally opened by M. Madhusudan Rao, GM (HR-Services), Vizag Steel Plant.
In his keynote address, Mr. Rao urged the children to utilise the platform to hone their technical skills and also to cultivate essential life values like discipline, sportsmanship, and team spirit.
The ceremony was attended by Y. Chandra Sekhar, GM (TA, Training, Sports & Contract), alongside various officials from the Sports Department and members of the coaching staff.
