France and Norway confirmed their passage to Round of 32 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 with commanding wins in Group I on Monday.
France had to survive a 130-minute rain delay during its 3-0 win over Iraq in Philadelphia. Later in the day, Erling Haaland found the net twice as Norway emerged 3-2 victorious over Senegal.
With two spots decided, Senegal and Iraq will be involved in a direct shootout to finish in the third place. Since their respective goal differences have taken a severe hit in the two games, both will have to target a big win to qualify in third place.
France and Norway will have something to fight too, with the winner of their game having a relatively easier opponent in the next round.
