Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has requested the Centre to approve the second phase of Hyderabad Metro Rail.
Reddy, who was on a visit to New Delhi, met the Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar and requested for speedy approval to the second phase of the project.
He also requested support from the Centre for the proposed phase III of the project connecting the Shamshabad International Airport and the upcoming Future City.
The recent takeover of Hyderabad Metro phase I from L&T by the State Government was an important step in expansion of the Metro services in the city under phase II and III, Reddy informed the Union Minister.
The Telangana Government bought the 100 percent stake of Hyderabad Metro from L&T for about ₹15,000 crore with effect from May 1, 2026.
