A life with colour

Berger Paints’ new campaign unveiled a refreshed brand identity anchored in a simple belief: Whatever life may test us with, it should never take away our colour. The campaign ‘Rang Bana Rahe’ is as much a perspective on life as it is on paints, celebrating the way in which people hold on to their colours of individuality and spirit. At the centre of the campaign is a circus artist — a clown named Khushrangi, whose colours never fade, come rain or shine. Through the depiction of a day in his life, the film created by Sideways Consulting shows how people and even homes can hold on to their colours.

Praise without words

Greenlam Laminates’ new film, ‘Taareefein Dikhai Dengi’, created by Dentsu Creative Webchutney, draws on the insight that while people are quick to voice opinions, they are often reserved with compliments. Using the old film song ‘Na Bole Tum, Na Maine Kuch Kaha’ as a metaphor for appreciation that needs no words, the film shows a couple welcoming friends to their renovated home. The guests are left speechless by the interiors crafted with Greenlam Laminates and, for the couple, the stares are appreciation enough. Significantly, the ad is in a longer format at 45 seconds and 60 seconds, instead of 30 seconds, stemming from the brand’s belief that good stories cannot be rushed.

Back to basics

Jyothy Labs’ new campaign for its bioenzyme-powered anti-bacterial EXO range of dishwashing solutions, created by a simple agency, a unit of Loggerheads, uses a dual-voice strategy to build stronger connections with audiences across the country. Yami Gautam leads the communication across North, East and West India, while Keerthy Suresh becomes the voice of the brand in the southern states. The campaign keeps the product firmly at the heart of the story, and drills home — very simply — how well the dishwashing liquid does its job.

The death trap

Most road safety campaigns tell drivers what they are doing wrong. SaveLIFE Foundation’s latest behaviour change campaign, ‘Nuksaan Ka Sauda’, focuses on the ‘why’. The seven-film digital series, with creative development by McCann Worldgroup, shows that many road crashes happen not because of recklessness or indifference but pure economics. In an attempt to save every penny, the average Indian compromises — from using cheap helmets to overloading vehicles — not realising it can be fatal. Three of the films feature hyperlocal content creators drawn from the truck driving, cab driving and motorcyclist communities.
