Avi Polymers, a technology-driven company, has launched ‘KrishiBuddy’, an AI-powered smart farming platform developed by its wholly owned subsidiary, AVI Eco Spark.

The launch marks the company’s strategic entry into the fast-growing agritech space. KrishiBuddy is an intelligent farming assistant built to support India’s smallholder farmers.

Bringing smart decision-making to farmers

The platform supports better decision-making at every stage of farming, from crop planning to tracking market prices, making advanced agricultural intelligence accessible to every farmer.

Building on this, KrishiBuddy offers a multilingual AI interface that allows farmers to interact through voice, text, or images in regional languages.

Real-time insights and profitability tools

It uses satellite-based crop monitoring to provide real-time insights into crop health and field conditions. The platform also includes a profit calculator using live mandi prices and cost inputs to help farmers estimate returns. It provides early pest and disease alerts based on local data, while enabling farmers to explore export opportunities beyond domestic markets.

Business model and growth strategy

The launch of KrishiBuddy reflects the company’s focus on building new sources of growth through technology. The platform will generate revenue through a B2B agri input marketplace and subscription services for large farmer groups. It will also use verified agricultural data to help improve access to credit through financial institutions. With features such as export planning, the company aims to help farmers and farmer-producer organisations connect with global markets.

Chintan Patel, Managing Director, Avi Polymers, said with KrishiBuddy, the company aims to make advanced technology simple and usable for farmers, regardless of their scale or background.

“We believe that tools powered by AI and data can help farmers take more confident decisions, improve productivity and increase their income while reducing uncertainty,” he said.

Future roadmap and expansion

Going forward, the company plans to further strengthen the platform with IoT-led solutions and deeper integration with farmer-producer organisations, so that Indian agriculture becomes more connected, efficient and globally competitive, he added.
