In May 2026, Hyundai’s sales increased 4% to 61,137 units, including 13,300 exports; Bajaj Auto’s sales rose 18% y-o-y to 393,204 units from 332,370 units in May 2025

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Monday said its domestic wholesales (dispatches to dealers) of vehicles grew by 9 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to 47,837 units in May, as compared with 43,861 units in the same month last year.

With exports of 13,300 units, total monthly sales stood at 61,137 units, marking 4 per cent y-o-y growth in May 2026 as compared with 58,701 units in May 2025, the company said.

“Hyundai Motor India has continued its strong momentum of the year into May as well, achieving domestic sales of 47,837 units with 9.1 per cent y-o-y growth and total sales of 61,137 units with 4.1 per cent y-o-y growth. In the first two months (April and May) of FY27, HMIL witnessed domestic sales rise by 13 per cent to 99,739 units, compared to 88,235 units in the same period of FY26,” Tarun Garg, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, HMIL, said.

Meanwhile, two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto said its domestic wholesales grew by 9 per cent y-o-y to 2,09,528 units during the last month as compared with 1,91,412 units in May 2025.

Exports of its products grew by 30 per cent y-o-y to 1,83,676 units in May as compared with 1,40,958 units in the corresponding month last year.

The total sales grew by 18 per cent y-o-y to 3,93,204 units during the month as compared with 3,32,370 units in May 2025.

In terms of commercial vehicles (3-wheelers), the company’s domestic wholesales grew by 12 per cent y-o-y to 38,503 units in May as against 34,321 units in the same month last year. Exports grew by 65 per cent to 29,550 units as compared with 17,930 units in May 2025.

The grand total of its sales grew by 20 per cent y-o-y to 4,61,257 units in May against 3,84,621 units in May 2025.
