BigBasket offers delivery across a wide range of over 30,000 products, including groceries, fresh produce, fruits and vegetables, medicines, and more

Tata-owned quick commerce player BigBasket has appointed ex-Google leader Arpit Jaiswal as its Chief Growth Officer.

In this role, Arpit will lead growth across product, user acquisition, retention, and market expansion.

Before moving to bigbasket, Arpit worked at Google India, where he was the head of growth and monetisation for 4 years, and Google Pay.

At Google Pay, as Head of Growth and Group Product Manager, he led large-scale user acquisition through partnerships and AI-led interventions, while driving disciplined OpEx management and P&L optimization for India operations..

Hari Menon, Founder & CEO of BigBasket said, “Arpit’s deep experience in scaling consumer platforms with a strong focus on efficiency and innovation will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our market position.”

In addition to this, the online supermarket also promoted Keshav Kumar as its new Chief Product and Technology Officer. Kumar replaces Rakshit Daga, who left BigBasket in July last year to join WestBridge Capital as an operating advisor.

BigBasket offers delivery across a wide range of over 30,000 products, including groceries, fresh produce, fruits and vegetables, medicines, and more. It has a presence in more than 60 cities, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, and operates through a strong network of over 850 dark stores.

These appointments come at a time when the competition in the quick commerce space is heating up. India’s quick commerce market is poised for explosive growth, with the sector expected to expand nearly sixfold to touch $50 billion by 2030, according to a joint report by Google and Deloitte.

The report, The $250 Billion Commerce Frontier, estimates that gross merchandise value (GMV) in quick commerce will rise from about $7–8 billion in 2025 to $45–50 billion by the end of the decade, driven by rising consumer preference for speed, convenience and instant fulfilment.
