Dr Rao’s Hospital – International Institute of Neurosciences (IIN), a leading neuroscience centre, has announced a significant expansion of its specialised neuro and spine care network across Andhra Pradesh.

The expansion is part of its long-term vision to decentralise advanced healthcare and strengthen access to tertiary neurosciences services in regional India.

Founded by neurosurgeon Dr Mohana Rao Patibandla, the institution has evolved from a single specialty neurosciences centre in Guntur into a rapidly growing healthcare organisation serving patients from multiple states and international destinations.

The expansion reflects the increasing demand for advanced neurological, neurosurgical, spine, stroke and endovascular services outside metropolitan healthcare hubs.

The hospital has expanded its neuro and spine outpatient footprint through dedicated consultation centres in key Andhra Pradesh cities, enabling patients to access specialist evaluation closer to home while reducing the burden of long-distance travel for neurological care. The initiative builds upon the hospital’s broader mission of making highly specialised brain and spine treatment more accessible across tier-II and -III cities.

The hospital has simultaneously invested in advanced neurosciences infrastructure, including neuronavigation systems, hybrid operating suites, endovascular capabilities, intraoperative neuromonitoring, minimally invasive surgical platforms, and specialised neurocritical care facilities. These investments are intended to support the increasing complexity of neurological disorders and the growing need for precision-driven treatment pathways.

Dr Mohana Rao Patibandla, Founder and Chief Neurosurgeon, said India’s healthcare future depends on building advanced specialty ecosystems beyond traditional metropolitan centres.

The expansion is an important step toward improving accessibility, affordability, and clinical outcomes for patients across the region, he added.

The institution’s growth comes amid rising demand for specialised treatment of stroke, brain tumors, spinal disorders, neurovascular diseases, pediatric neurological conditions, and minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures.

The expansion will also generate employment opportunities for healthcare professionals, nursing staff, technicians, rehabilitation specialists, and support personnel. The organisation is also exploring future investments in advanced research initiatives, training programs, artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostics, and international academic collaborations to further strengthen its neurosciences ecosystem.
