Coca-Cola says it’s looking at listing its leading bottle...
By Meenakshi Verma Ambwani · 2026-06-02 · via Company News: Companies Analysis, Updates & Insights | The HinduBusinessLine

Beverage major Coca-Cola on Tuesday said that it is looking at a public listing of Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings Pvt. Ltd. in 2027 on the bourses. HCCH is the parent company of its largest bottler in India, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. (HCCB). It added that through the listing process, it will look at sale of a portion of its shareholding in HCCH.

Coca-Cola owns 60 per cent stake in HCCH, while the balance 40 per cent is held by the Jubilant Bhartia Group.

The beverage major said that this potential listing will complete the refranchising of HCCH while positioning it well to capitalise on the opportunities in the Indian market.

“Initial preparations are underway for a potential listing on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India, subject to market conditions and applicable regulatory and other approvals,” the company said. It has retained Rothschild & Co to advise on the listing.

In July 2025, the Jubilant Bhartia Group completed the acquisition of a 40 per cent stake in HCCH.

Sanket Ray, President, India and Southwest Asia and Emerging Large Markets Lead for the Coca-Cola Company said, “This announcement is another important step for HCCB. Under the leadership of our trusted partners in Jubilant Bhartia Group, following the listing the bottler will be well placed to continue to pursue growth. The Coca-Cola Company will stay invested in this important bottler and focus on growing our portfolio of global and local brands in India.”

“We are excited to take this next important step in the bottler’s journey and reap the benefits of the public listing to create value for all shareholders. Equally, we are looking forward to continuing to work with The Coca-Cola Company, as an important shareholder in the company,” added Shyam and Hari Bhartia, Chairman and Co-Chairman of Jubilant Bhartia Group.

Established in 1997, HCCH and its operating subsidiary HCCB operate a network of more than 2,000 distributors and reach over 1.7 million customers. HCCB operates 14 bottling plants across 10 States in India and works with eight co-packers. It employs 5,000 people currently.

In the past, the beverage major had also refranchised several territories which were under HCCB to existing independent bottlers.

HCCB prepares, packages, distributes and sells both sparkling and still beverages of the company’s portfolio including Coca-Cola, Thums Up, Sprite, Fanta, Limca, Maaza and Minute Maid among others.
