How to do live debug the Managed code in Windows Phone 7
(Highlight part will be important)
Open 2 VS 2008, 1st instance is for PB, the other
is for your managed solution. (Please make sure the 2 instance works in same privilege, and I
suppose you have set signed the managed application which is in other words the
managed application can work on the device.)
1. Attach the 1st VS 2008 instance to device by
KITL
2. On
the 1st VS 2008 instance, load debugger by '>s loaddbg.exe' comman
3. Then on the 2nd VS2008 instance, select the device that
you create and connect in the 1st VS 2008 instance.
4. Click the ‘Connect to Device’ button
5. Wait until the connecting success.
6. (Optional) Then
you can set the debug approach for your managed application, say if your manage
code is launched by TUXNET
7. Set the breakpoint and press F5 to start debugging, the
Native code will be debugged in your 1st VS2008 instance, and the
managed code will be debugged in your 2nd VS2008 instance.
8. (Optional) if
you can’t successfully build the managed code, but you have the managed DLL,
PDB and source code ready, then what should I do?
a. In the 2nd VS 2008 instance, Tools
->Options… -> Debugging -> Symbols.
Set the symbols path as following:
b. Press F5 to start debugging(Please don’t care the build
fail error, and select the last time build result if it promotes, and watch the
1st VS2008’s CE log output window, if you can see the managed
application is launching, then that means it will work)
