coelacanth∅: well-fed and fairly productive! one thing i've been meaning to do is back up all my soundy wfmu premiums. it's fun in general, but also tedious because i upload to wav files for a 5tb external hard drive, then convert to flac for a 2tb drive. that part's tedious.
but it's done.
...except i'm missing one, and 2 others have a peculiar issue...

...so, was Leimer influenced by Eno at each step, i wonder? (1st by his pop music then by the ambient...) or was the ambient music concurrent evolution...

… well, the track above derives from a 2014 comp of collected (proto?) works from 1975-1983. So considering eno’s ‘another green world’ arrived Nov 1975 it figures YES. and even Leimer’s avant-pop moniker ‘SAVANT’ sounded kinda eno/byrne adjacent. His 1982 ‘Land of Look Behind’ album was my fave at the time. He has way more now than I ever kept up with. Too many artists to follow. 🤷‍♂️ 🙃 ♥ 2:47am

i saw la planète sauvage the first time only a few years ago. it was on youboob in it's entirety. there were other short works, or excerpts, by René Laloux which i watched; but i don't remember them. that should be no gauge to how interesting they are! it was probably 430am, drunken, exhausted... ♥ 2:57am
