During Sunday’s game, the Phillies announced that they had claimed a player off waivers from the Nationals.

The Phillies wrote (via X): “The Phillies have claimed RHP Jackson Rutledge off waivers from the Washington Nationals and optioned him to Lehigh Valley (AAA).”

Rutledge allowed seven runs in his only appearance of the 2026 season.

Rutledge was the 17th pick in the 2019 MLB Draft by the Nationals.

Over 71 career games, the 27-year-old has gone 5-3 with a 6.29 ERA.
