On Thursday afternoon, the New York Yankees concluded their series with the Texas Rangers (at home) in the Bronx.
The Yankees won by a score of 9-2.
Brendan Beck made his MLB debut, pitching 3.0 innings (and allowing two earned runs).
Directly after the game, the Yankees announced that they had optioned the 27-year-old back to Triple-A.
The Yankees wrote (via X): “Following today’s game, the Yankees optioned RHP Brendan Beck to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.”

After the game, Beck met with reporters (h/t SNY’s Yankees Videos).
Beck: “It was awesome, a lot of fun. Obviously, a dream come true to come up here and do it at Yankee Stadium. And awesome to just get a win, win a series with the guys and just keep things rolling here. It was a lot of fun.”

Beck was picked in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft (by the Yankees).
In Triple-A, he is currently 2-2 with a 5.11 ERA in seven games this season.
Steven Cusumano of The Somerset Patriots wrote: “It didn’t matter that Brendan Beck effectively missed his first 3 seasons. He came out last year with the confidence of a 2nd round pick who hadn’t missed a day, put his head down and went to work. As intelligent a pitcher as you’ll find, with the fortitude of a Major Leaguer.”
The Yankees have made a lot of roster moves early in the season.
It will be interesting to see if they give Beck another chance later in the year.

Looking Ahead For New York
The Yankees are off to an amazing start to the 2026 MLB season with a 26-12 record in 38 games, which has them as the first-place team in the American League East.
They are now headed to Wisconsin for a series with the Milwaukee Brewers that starts on Friday night.
On the road, the Yankees have gone 12-6 in 18 games outside of the Bronx.
