Former Buffalo Bills edge rusher Joey Bosa could have a new landing spot after the NFL draft.
The Bills chose to pass on Bosa after the completion of his one-year contract and a season filled with inconsistent play. While many expect Bosa to join his brother on the San Francisco 49ers, one analyst believes a new team could jump in the mix after the draft.
Another Team Could Land Joey Bosa
Bleacher Report’s Andrew Peters published a list of potential destinations for some of the top remaining free agents, noting that Bosa should still be a hot commodity. He went unsigned through the initial wave of free agency, but could see more interest after the draft as teams assess their pass-rushing needs.
“Joey Bosa has perhaps lost a step or two in recent years, but he’s still more than capable of making an impact on a defensive line,” Peters wrote. “In his time with the Buffalo Bills last year, he recorded 29 tackles, five sacks and an NFL-best five forced fumbles. At 30 years old, he likely can produce a season similar to that in 2026.”
While Peters believes the San Francisco 49ers could still be a top contender for Bosa, he added that the Tennessee Titans could also jump into the mix.
“The Titans actually had some decent defensive numbers in 2025 despite being one of the worst teams in the league, and much of the credit can go to star defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons,” Peters wrote. “Still, it could be worthwhile for Tennessee to bring in Bosa to complement Simmons and double down on being a defense-focused squad as the team looks to establish its identity.”
Peters added that Bosa — who signed with the Bills for $12.5 million last season — could also fit in with Tennessee’s cap situation.
‘The Titans also have plenty of cap space to work with, so Bosa’s contract wouldn’t be too much for them,” Peters wrote.
Joey Bosa Faces Free Agency Warning
Bosa has faced some uncertainty after his one season in Buffalo, where he made a big impact at times but also struggled — especially in run defense. SI.com’s Brock Vierra predicted that the Los Angeles Rams could be interested in Bosa, but warned that the veteran edge rusher could see his impact diminish.
“Bosa spent last season with the Buffalo Bills, after a nine-year stint with the Los Angeles Chargers,” Vierra wrote. “Bosa recorded five sacks last season, playing in 15 games. While Bosa does bring a lot to the table, the flip side of that coin is that there’s a lot of wear and tear on his body and he isn’t willing to take a discount, not even to join his brother Nick in San Francisco.”
Vierra added that teams likely won’t be willing to pay top dollar for Bosa anymore.
“While he remains an effective player, even at this point in his career, the price is not worth the gamble,” Vierra wrote. “When Bosa is on, he’s one of the best players in the league. The problem is that version of Bosa is buried underneath the injuries of a long career. Plus, he tends to jump offside at the worst moments.”
