The NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway race ended with clear inspection results, but one penalty changed the conversation after the checkered flag. The NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth closed with Carson Hocevar confirmed as the winner after a clean post-race inspection.

Officials checked all 35 trucks in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and approved the finishing order with no major violations. Still, one issue stood out. The No. 34 team received a penalty for a safety violation tied to lug nuts.

The decision did not change the race results, but it brought attention to NASCAR rules and team responsibility. The NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway event delivered both a confirmed winner and a reminder of strict inspection standards.

Results Confirmed After Inspection as Hocevar Secures a Win

Officials completed post-race inspection and confirmed the results without changes at Texas Motor Speedway. Carson Hocevar secured the win after an overtime restart and led a career-high 76 laps in the NASCAR race. He also swept both stages during the NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway event.

Hocevar held off Kyle Busch in the closing laps to take his first win of the 2026 season. The NASCAR race featured multiple cautions, including contact between Ty Majeski and Layne Riggs that caused a spin. Riggs recovered and finished sixth on track.

Reporter Matt Weaver confirmed the outcome on social media, stating, “Truck Series Texas inspection is clear, and the results are confirmed.” That update locked in Hocevar’s victory and the official finishing order from the NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway race.

NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway Penalty Hits No. 34, Team

Despite the overall clean inspection, NASCAR issued a penalty to the No. 34 team, driven by Layne Riggs. Officials found two unsecured lug nuts on one wheel during inspection after the NASCAR race. Under NASCAR rules, this falls under safety violations.

Front Row Motorsports received a $2,500 fine. NASCAR also suspended one crew member for the next race. The penalty does not change Riggs’ sixth-place finish at the NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway event, but it carries consequences for the team moving forward.

NASCAR requires all five lug nuts on each wheel to be properly secured before a vehicle leaves pit road. One loose nut can lead to a warning, but two or more result in stricter penalties. This rule is in place to prevent wheel failures during a NASCAR race.

Safety Rules Continue to Impact Teams Across the Series

The NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway penalty highlights how small mistakes can lead to consequences. Teams operate under tight margins, and even minor issues during pit stops can trigger penalties in any NASCAR race. Lug-nut violations have become more common in recent seasons, leading NASCAR to enforce stricter checks.

Layne Riggs continues to perform strongly in 2026. His sixth-place finish added points for the team, but the crew suspension could affect pit performance in the next NASCAR race. Front Row Motorsports has not released an official statement about the violation.

NASCAR continues to maintain strict inspection standards across all events. The clean inspection for most teams shows strong compliance, while the penalty reinforces accountability. With Carson Hocevar’s win now official, the NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway race stands as both a competitive NASCAR race and a reminder of the sport’s safety rules.
