McMahon had spent the first eight and a half seasons of his career playing for the Colorado Rockies.
He was traded to New York during the middle of last season.
The 31-year-old has hit 20+ home runs in six different seasons.

McMahon stepping up his play would be a huge boost for the Yankees this season.
He is still under contract for one more year (after this season).
The Yankees enter Saturday with a 26-13 record in 39 games, which has them as the top team in the American League East.
They have gone 12-7 in the 19 games they have played on the road.
Following two more games against the Brewers, the Yankees will head to Baltimore for a series with the Orioles that starts on Monday night.
