



























EXCLUSIVE: Oscar–winning actor Brendan Fraser is set to star in the cosmic sci-fi thriller Starman from Emmy winning writer and director Josh Wakely from his original screenplay.
In Starman, Fraser will portray visionary technologist Tom Adams—an architect of the future—who launches a historic expedition to Mars, positioning himself at the forefront of humanity’s next frontier. But when unforeseen events find him millions of miles from Earth, his mission becomes an unexpected and urgent race against time—driven not by survival alone, but by love.
The feature project is a Grace: A Storytelling Company production and will be produced by Eddie Vaisman of Sight Unseen, who most recently produced the Fraser Searchlight movie Rental Family. Grace’s Wakely and Rebecca Graham also produce. Filmmaker David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Batman v. Superman scribe) will executive produce along with Tarek Sherif, Ryan Graves and Sight Unseen’s Julia Lebedev.
Sherif and Graves are financing the feature, which begins production this summer.
Anton will launch sales at the Marché du Film de Cannes where they will unveil exclusive information about the project.
Fraser won the Academy Award for Best Actor for Darren Aronofsky’s 2022 movie The Whale. In addition to starring in Rental Family, he’ll next portray President Dwight D. Eisenhower in Focus Features’ Pressure (May 29, 2026). He is also set to appear in Andy Garcia’s Diamond, alongside Dustin Hoffman and Bill Murray, which will make its world premiere at Cannes and he will reprise his iconic role in the upcoming fourth installment of $1.4 billion global grossing The Mummy franchise reteaming with Rachel Weisz.
Other feature credits include George of the Jungle, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Bedazzled, Crash, Gods and Monsters, and The Quiet American. On stage, he has appeared in London’s West End production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Fraser is repped by CAA, Linden Entertainment, and Patty Felker.
Wakely is the founder of Grace: A Storytelling Company. Wakely secured life rights to sports legend Muhammad Ali and originated and is an executive producer of the upcoming Amazon scripted series The Greatest. Previously, Wakely created and ran two successful original animated series at Netflix, the Emmy-winning Beat Bugs and its follow-up Motown Magic, adapted from the music catalogs of The Beatles and Motown. Wakely is represented by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Hansen Jacobson.
