Full list: Emirates, Lufthansa cut flights in Middle East...
2026-04-11 · via Economic news

Air travel across the Middle East is facing widespread disruption, with major global airlines cancelling, delaying, and reducing services as regional tensions continue to impact key aviation hubs such as Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi.

Carriers across Europe, Asia, and North America have adjusted schedules, with some suspensions extending into mid and late 2026, News.Az reports, citing foreign media.

Emirates is operating a reduced schedule following partial airspace reopening.

Etihad Airways continues services to around 80 destinations, but with adjustments.

Several major European airlines have scaled back or suspended flights:

  • Air France: Dubai, Riyadh, Beirut routes suspended until early May
  • KLM: Dubai and regional routes suspended into mid-May
  • Lufthansa group airlines: multiple Middle East routes suspended through May and in some cases until October
  • British Airways: reducing frequencies to Dubai, Doha, and Tel Aviv

Other carriers including Finnair, Wizz Air, and Eurowings have also extended suspensions or reduced operations.

Airlines in Asia-Pacific and beyond have also been impacted:

  • Singapore Airlines suspended Dubai flights until May
  • Cathay Pacific cancelled Dubai and Riyadh routes
  • Japan Airlines and Malaysia Airlines adjusted or suspended Middle East routes

Airlines operating to Israel have also faced cancellations or delays:

  • El Al suspended multiple flights temporarily
  • Delta Air Lines postponed Tel Aviv routes
  • Iberia Express and Norwegian Air also delayed services

The ongoing disruptions are causing:

  • Flight delays and cancellations across multiple hubs
  • Reduced route frequency
  • Higher fares on remaining available flights
  • Uncertainty for summer travel schedules
