Recently, a group of N-ablites came together to support Cat’s Retirement Home Koteria, a local cat rescue organization dedicated to caring for elderly and cats without a home. In this VoluNteer Spotlight, we caught up with Magdalena Jasinska, Workplace Experience Coordinator, to learn more about what inspired this VoluNteer Day and how the team made a difference.

Why do you love to support this organization? What made you want to support this organization?

I’m a proud owner of two cats that I adopted through a rescue organization similar to Cat’s Retirement Home Koteria, and I wanted to give something back to the community. Many of my colleagues are pet owners as well, so I knew I wouldn’t struggle to find N-ablites who shared a passion for helping animals!

Many of these cats have little to no chance of being adopted, so I wanted to help in a way that could make an immediate positive impact, including collecting food and monetary donations. With 15 cats currently living at the shelter and a small team caring for them all, there isn’t always time to give each cat the attention they deserve. Hopefully, we were able to provide a little extra love for them that day!

What were your main responsibilities while volunteering?

Our main task was building 72 shelters for the cats living at the rescue. We used polystyrene boxes, cutting out entrances before wrapping them in durable plastic sheeting to protect them from both extreme heat and cold.

Which N-able core value do you feel you were able to display on your volunteer day and why?

N-spire Others stands out to me because I hope our actions inspired others to give back and make a difference in their own communities.

We also displayed N-joy the Journey because everyone who participated was passionate about the project, helped one another, and had fun working together. It was a great team-building experience!

We love seeing our N-ablites use their VoluNteer Days to support the causes that are important to them, making a positive impact in the communities where we live and work.
