Former US attorney-general Pamela Bondi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after leaving the Justice Department in April, CNN reported on Wednesday.

She told CNN that she is still undergoing treatment, had surgery recently, and that she is doing well.

As a reminder, Bondi was fired from the Justice Department in April. She is reportedly still scheduled to testify on Friday at the House Oversight Committee’s probe into Jeffrey Epstein.

Additionally, Axios reported that Bondi has been appointed to be on an advisory committee focused on AI policy.

"Pam has been an enormously valuable asset to the president's team, and I'm thrilled for her and for all of us that she's going to remain involved in confronting some of the most important issues the administration faces," Vice President JD Vance said in a statement.
