On July 9, Madison Beer brought The Locket Tour to the Fox Theatre in Detroit MI. Walking around the venue, fans dress in outfits inspired by the “Locket” album, including looks from Beer’s entire discography. Many wear angel wings inspired by the song “angel wings,” creating excitement before the show even begins.

Once the show is about to begin, the pre-show setlist comes to a halt and the lights begin to dim as the crowd instantly starts to cheer. The introduction begins to play, revealing stunning visuals of a miniature carnival display in a dark atmosphere called the “Tunnel of Love.” Beer narrates the visual as the viewers navigate through the scenery.

As the lights begin to flicker and the instrumental starts to play, the curtains drop, revealing Madison Beer. Across the theater, phones quickly go up and jaws fall as Beer appears at the top of the steps. She opens the night with the energizing song “yes baby.”

The stage brings the opening visual to life, transforming the miniature carnival into a full-size set that makes the audience feel as if they have stepped into Madison Beer’s imagination. A beautiful musical jewelry box structure stands out as one of the most eye-catching elements of the stage.

Beer’s stage presence is confident and fierce throughout the show. She moves across the stage with confidence, gaining the attention of the entire theater while looking directly into the eyes of fans. Her live vocals bring every song to life, adding emotion and depth to each performance.

One of the most memorable highlights comes during the performance of “for the night,” when Beer lies on top of the musical jewelry box stage as it slowly spins like a wound-up music box. A camera angled down on her captures the mesmerizing view.

The crowd’s energy is undeniable, becoming so loud that they nearly overpower Beer as she sings during these moments. Some songs are so energetic that the entire mezzanine floor shakes from the dancing audience. The energy remains high during her upbeat songs, while her more emotional tracks bring tears to many fans’ eyes.

A wholesome moment comes when Beer allows a fan to choose the surprise song of the night. Two cards are placed inside a heart-shaped box, and Madison reads the lyrics of the options before allowing a lucky fan in the crowd to pick. The choices are “King Of Everything” and “Effortlessly.” The crowd roars when the fan reveals the card that says “Effortlessly.”

Throughout the night, Beer performs a total of 24 songs and has three outfit changes, adding to the visual experience of the show. The choreography among the four backup dancers is beautifully done with solo moments that allow each dancer to showcase their impressive moves. The live band is phenomenal, somehow making the songs sound even better than the studio versions.

During her performance of “lovergirl,” Beer walks through the barricade section and interacts with the crowd, exchanging hugs and autographs with fans. A fan gives her a customized cowboy hat, and she continues to perform while wearing it. It is such a special interaction between some longtime fans and Beer herself.

Beer closes the show with “bittersweet” and confetti rains down across the venue as fans reach up to catch it. The night certainly leaves the audience feeling bittersweet.
