Sony's State of Play event kicked off with brutal gameplay from the biggest exclusive coming out in September: Wolverine. 

A new gameplay video presented by developer Insomniac Games revealed new details about the game and announced that Wolverine preorders are now available. 

In the new gameplay video, Wolverine is tracking a group of paramilitary cybernetic mercenaries called the Reavers, who are rounding up mutants. We get a look at the bloody and brutal combat as Wolverine slices apart enemies with his Adamantium claws and enemy attacks leave the X-Man with large open wounds. 

In the sequence, Logan jumps off a motorcycle to land on top of a convoy of trucks, leaping from one to another, taking out bad guys. Combat gradually fills up a rage meter, which is then used to unleash more powerful attacks or quickly restore health. 

The video also shows off a cast of X-Men characters who will make an appearance in the game, including Jean Grey, Mystique, Nightcrawler, the Sentinels and Wolverine's biggest rival, Sabretooth. 

The PS5 exclusive will be released on Sept. 15 for $70. Preorders will grant early access to Wolverine's classic brown suit and his reflective claws, a reference to the iconic Hulk #340 comic book cover. Preorders also come with an additional Technique Point to use in the game and four PS avatars. 

There is also an $80 Deluxe Digital Edition of the game. This version includes the previously mentioned preorder bonuses along with five exclusive suits: Incredible, Savage, Age of Apocalypse, Night Hunt and New Leather. There are also five exclusive claws: Smooth-Edged Claws, Hollow Blade Claws, Thick Claws, Serrated Spine Claws and Tapered Claws. Players will also receive three Technique Points.
