YouTube has revealed the top trending videos of 2016, with singers, fighters, actors and athletes featuring high on the list.
It seems people just can’t get enough of Adele singing karaoke in a car – the singer’s appearance with James Corden in January topped the list of trending videos in 2016.
YouTube revealed its list of top-trending videos today (7 December), with Adele’s stint on Corden’s The Late Late Show racking up more than 135m views since January.
Corden welcomed Adele into his immensely popular sketch during a trip to London, with the star singing some of her classic songs before rapping Nicki Minaj’s Monster.
Collectively, the 10 videos amassed 550m views globally and were watched for over 25m hours. The channels that make them have more than 40m subscribers, with The Late Late Show with James Corden, for example, totaling 8.3m of that.

In Ireland, things were a little different. Adele again topped the list but, below her, it was all change. Saoirse Ronan appears twice, with her explanations of pub lock-ins and the Irish accent enough to keep viewers happy.
Conor McGregor’s UFC 205 interview was another popular video.
The most exciting video on the list makes it in at the final stretch, fittingly enough: UCC star Phil Healy, who “came from the depths of hell” to claim a thrilling victory in the women’s 4x400m relay at the Irish Universities Track and Field Championships.
