Orlando Magic coach Jamahl Mosley has instilled a defensive identity for the team.
Jamahl Mosley is looking for a new gig after he was fired by the Orlando Magic after three straight first-round losses.
The Chicago Bulls are one of the few teams in the league actively looking for a new head coach, so they make sense as a destination for Mosley.

The Bulls were listed as a top potential landing spot for Mosley by Doric Sam of Bleacher Report. The Bulls are on the lookout for a new head coach after Billy Donovan decided to walk away from the franchise after six seasons.
The Bulls are in rebuild mode, but Mosley is known as a development guy, so he could potentially be a good fit in Chicago.
“By joining Chicago, Mosley would be taking on a difficult rebuild. The Bulls have missed the playoffs in each of the last four seasons. They finished 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 31-51 record this year,” Sam wrote.
“Chicago’s roster lacks high-end talent, with point guard Josh Giddey leading the way. Swingman Matas Buzelis has the potential to be a future star, but he’s yet to put it all together. … Mosley would surely be up to the challenge of leading Chicago back to prominence, and he could have a say in the team’s draft decisions this summer.”

Whoever the Bulls end up hiring to be their next head coach won’t technically be their top choice, because their top choice initially was keeping Donovan in the role. That was made clear by Bulls CEO and team president Michael Reinsdorf while he was discussing the hiring process for a new basketball executive last month.
“If I interview someone and they’re not sold on Billy, they’re not sold on a Hall of Fame coach,” Reinsdorf said. “They’re not sold on a person who’s won championships in college, who’s gone deep in the playoffs with Oklahoma City. … If Billy wants to be our coach and someone’s not interested in that, then they’re probably not the right candidate for us.”
While Donvan may have been Chicago’s top choice, Mosley could be an intriguing successor, if they want to go in that direction.
