Jalen Green of the Phoenix Suns has been plagued by injuries this season.

The Phoenix Suns will host the Golden State Warriors in the final NBA Play-In Tournament game of the season on Friday at the PHX Arena. The winner clinches the No. 8 seed in the West and faces the defending NBA champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, in the first round of the playoffs.

The Portland Trail Blazers outlasted the Suns on Tuesday to earn the No. 7 seed and a date against the San Antonio Spurs. Jalen Green had a huge game for Phoenix, scoring a team-high 35 points, in the Suns’ 114-110 loss.

Green played 39 minutes, a season-high, for the former No. 1 pick, who dealt with two strained right hamstring injuries this season.

Despite playing a ton of minutes against the Blazers, the Suns have cleared Green to play on Friday. He will be available to play the Warriors since he’s not listed on their official injury report and will likely have no restrictions.

The same can’t be said for Grayson Allen and Mark Williams, who are both listed as questionable. Allen is dealing with a strained left hamstring, while Williams has sore left foot.

Allen was also questionable before the Blazers game before getting ruled out. Williams played in that game, scoring four points and adding four rebounds and two blocks in 22 minutes.

Both players are expected to get re-evaluated before tip-off. They are either getting upgraded to available or downgraded to out.

Green’s Positive Impact in Blazers Loss

The Suns acquired Green, Dillon Brooks and 2026 No. 10 pick Khaman Maluach from the Houston Rockets in the offseason in exchange for Kevin Durant. Green was the prized asset due to his age, scoring ability, athleticism and team-friendly contract.

His first season in Phoenix was plagued by injuries, but John Voita of SB Nation’s Valley of the Suns was pretty happy with the “Full Jalen Green Experience” against Portland.

“His athleticism and quickness created space where none existed,” Voita wrote. “He found openings, generated clean looks, and did it in a game where those opportunities were rare. The scoring ability is real. It jumps off the screen. The efficiency? Ehhh, not so much.”

While there were some negatives, Voita was particularly pleased that Green stepped up on the spotlight and wasn’t afraid to take the big shots. He missed the go-ahead shot with 10 seconds remaining, but he still took it with confidence.

Green’s Career Stats vs. Warriors

Even though Green is coming off an amazing performance against the Blazers, he doesn’t have the best resume when it comes to facing the Warriors.

In 14 regular-season games, Green is averaging just 13.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals. He’s shooting at an abysmal 31.2%, including 21.5% from beyond the arc.

Green didn’t do any better in last year’s playoff series between the Rockets and Warriors. He averaged just 13.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in seven games. He shot 37.2% from the floor and 29.5% from 3-point range.
