Former Texas A&M star Cashius Howell was one of the players the Seattle Seahawks hosted on a Top-30 visit as the team looks to bolster its squad for the 2026 NFL season and defend its Super Bowl title.

Over the offseason, Seattle saw several key players from its Super Bowl-winning squad leave in free agency. As a result, the Seahawks will be looking to replace those players in the draft.

One of the departures that Seattle saw was Boye Mafe, which is why the team could target an edge rusher in the draft. During an April 21 appearance on “Up & Adams,” Howell shared details about his visit and said he could see himself playing for the Seahawks.

“It was great,” Howell said. “The facilities, everything was so beautiful up there in Seattle. The coaching staff did a great job of welcoming me with open arms and really just kind of giving me the lay of the land, telling me what they expect me to do within the defense if they were to draft me.

“We watched a little film, did a little install, and just kind of had a great insight into what to expect if they were to draft me. It was a great visit. I got to meet a lot of great staff members and great players. So, like I said, I definitely feel like it would be a great fit to go play for the Seattle Seahawks.”

Seahawks Culture Blows Cashius Howell Away Ahead of Draft

Moreover, Howell went into detail about how impressed he was with the culture the team has built since the arrival of head coach Mike Macdonald, which enabled the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl last season. As a result, it is no surprise that Seattle wants a player who fits into this culture.

“Honestly, I was blown away,” Howell added. “Based on some of the things that the coaches were saying and kind of the culture that they were trying to, or not trying to, but have already established in the locker room and just throughout the facilities, it makes sense as to why they win Super Bowls and that they’re always consistently just having great seasons.

“Honestly, I was just blown away by the whole visit and just thinking about all the scenarios that would happen and honestly wishing I could be a Seattle Seahawk. So that would definitely be a blessing.”

Seattle Is Looking to Trade Back at the 2026 Draft

Nonetheless, the question will be whether the Seahawks decide to use their first-round pick at No. 32, given that they have only four picks in this year’s draft and general manager John Schneider has stated they are looking to move back to acquire more picks, even open to the idea of making trades with division rivals.

“It’s no secret with us,” Schneider said on April 20 during his annual predraft news conference (h/t Brady Henderson of ESPN). “We have four picks, so we’ll be looking to move back…

“We’ve talked within our division. That was kind of frowned upon for a while, like you don’t trade within your division. Everybody in our division, we would trade with. We have good relationships with all three of those teams. You’re maneuvering around the board to try to help your team no matter what. So, when you look at it through that lens, you’re basically not concerned about [helping another team].”
