Giants head coach John Harbaugh weighed in on possible reunion with Odell Beckham Jr.

While most attention shifted to the NFL Draft, there is one key storyline that remains unfinished for the New York Giants. That being the potential reunion with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Amid the chaos of the draft, one key member of the Giants weighed in on the ongoing saga.

The Giants didn’t end up nabbing a top wideout in the first-round, but still bolstered their depth at WR in the form of Malachi Fields. During a recent press conference, Giants coach John Harbaugh was asked what this could mean regarding a potential Beckham signing. Following news of the free-agent WR coming in for a workout, the team is still deciding if the situation is right for both sides.

“We worked him out, he looked good,” Harbaugh told reporters. “We just have to have continued conversations with him…I think if we do anything, just being honest about it, it has to make sense for the Giants, has to make sense for him.”

Beckham has been adamant about landing on an NFL roster in 2026 after not playing at all last season. Throughout this journey, New York has been the main team connected to the former Pro-Bowler, largely because he’s made it clear he wants to return to where his pro career began.

There Remains no Movement on a Possible Reunion Between Odell Beckham and the Giants

Following the news that the Giants brought him in for a private workout, the football world was buzzing at the thought of him suiting up for the franchise again. However, according to the latest discourse of the situation, it still seems as though this is more fantasy than reality.

On April 20th, Giants insider Connor Hughes dove more into New York bringing in the veteran receiver. He reported that Beckham performed well in his workout, but the two sides aren’t any closer to getting a deal done.

Beckham was last in action in the NFL as a member of the Miami Dolphins in 2024. He appeared in just nine games for them, totaling just nine receptions and 55 yards in that stretch.

Giants Analyst Thinks the Giants Will Eventually Sign Odell Beckham

Although it doesn’t appear that anything is imminent regarding Beckham and the Giants, some are remaining firm that this reunion will eventually happen.

Leading up to the draft, the Giants were connected to multiple wideouts projected to go in the first round. They ended up going a different route with picks five and 10, adding promising talents to the defensive and offensive line.

After not taking a wideout early in the draft, Giants insider Art Stapleton took to X/Twitter to give his thoughts on New York’s moves. Based on how things unfolded, he thinks that a Beckham signing is coming in the not so distant future.

It’s worth noting that Stapleton could have had a change of heart since this post was made. The Giants ended up addressing their receiver corps in round three by bringing in Fields. That said, Beckham could still be viewed as an asset in the form of a veteran leader who can help mentor the Giants’ young wideouts.
