Ever since Houston Texans edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. came into the NFL, he’s received comparisons to NBA superstar LeBron James.
Not necessarily because they’re both elite athletes at the top of their respective sports, but because the two share somewhat of a resemblance.
You be the judge for yourself, but a large majority of NFL and NBA fans can see the similarities and are quick to point it out.
It made it all the better on Friday night when both James and Anderson crossed paths.
The Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets were in the midst of their Game 6 clash in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs when, halfway through the third quarter, James came tumbling to the floor after a hard foul.
Lo and behold, his doppelganger, Anderson, was there to pick him up.
The Los Angeles Lakers ended up closing the series out against the Houston Rockets, and after the game, James spoke with reporters.
The Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan M. Alexander asked James about getting a lift from Anderson, and his response did not disappoint.
“The moment was pretty cool. Yeah, I just said, it was good to see him. That’s my fourth child. Yeah, him and Bronny are twins and don’t nobody know it. Me and Savannah have been trying to keep it under wraps for a long time,” James said with a smile.

“But no, no disrespect to his parents. I mean, I did not start it. Unbelievable football player, deserving of everything that he’s got. And it was definitely dope to see him. It was definitely dope to see him.”
It’s absolutely hilarious to know that James has seen the memes and comments from fans about Anderson’s remarkably similar looks to his own and his son’s.
Of course, there is no actual relation there, and it’s all just for fun.
But one thing you can’t deny is that Anderson is just as dominant on the football field as James can be on the basketball court, even at age 41.
Anderson couldn’t have been more excited to help one of the greatest basketball players of all time off the floor, and he posted a video to his Instagram story showing the point of view from his side of things.
The Houston Texans star didn’t address the look-alike comparisons on Friday evening, but it’s certainly been brought to his attention before.
Sports reporter Cayden Kubler once asked Anderson about his potential doppelganger in Bronny James, and he found it entertaining, but claimed he didn’t see the resemblance.
Will Anderson Jr. when asked by Cayden Kubler (caydenkubler IG) if he’s heard the Bronny James comparison:
“Yes, I don’t think I look like him though.”
“I don’t look like him, though,” Anderson said with a laugh. He then turned and asked his publicist if she thought they looked alike. She also didn’t think so.
Anderson and his publicist can deny it all they want, but sports fans everywhere have decided that the resemblance is uncanny.
It just happened to be a hilarious twist of fate that the two crossed paths on Friday night.
