Where Mýa Stands With Christina Aguilera, Pink and Lil’ Kim 25 Years After “Lady Marmalade”
Mya wants to reunite with her soul sistas.
Over 25 years after the Chicago actress released a cover of “Lady Marmalade” for the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack alongside Christina Aguilera, Pink and ‘Lil Kim, she confirmed there’s no beef, despite rumors to the contrary, and even teased a possible reunion.
“We are actually all cool,” Mya told E! News in an exclusive interview. “It’s just about scheduling, budgeting, planning out the proper platform to support it in a major way to support it.”
And considering the group’s one and only 2001 single was such a hit, the 46-year-old doesn’t want a reunion for nostalgia’s sake alone.
“Of course, we can’t do anything less than,” she reasoned. “We have to meet or exceed expectations. It’s very important so that there are no disappointments. And there are just a lot of logistical aspects to making something like that happen.”
Nevertheless, it is something Mya is hoping for.
“The fans are not alone because I am right there with you,” she admitted. “Fingers crossed.”
And despite longstanding rumors of a feud between Pink and Christina that arose while filming the music video for the single, Mya recalled a much happier on-set dynamic.
“I just enjoy being part of that ensemble,” she mused. “I used to work with so many male hip-hop artists and I was often the only girl on the tour, or in the room. And it was fun, but it was kind of refreshing to be around your peers that are women.”

Mya emphasized there was so much the foursome could relate over.
“There was respect and celebration all in one,” she recalled. “We worked together as a team as well which I absolutely loved because it wasn’t just a collaboration with one female artist. It was all of us and we come from different backgrounds and play in different genres and have our own individual careers so I thought that was quite amazing to be a part of but also witness and the demographics that would show up when we would perform together was everything.”
Naturally, it’s nice to see the song’s staying power, too. As Mya put it, “It’s actually pretty cool to see things resurface and take a life of their own in the current day.”

Hanson released an album together in 2013 before brothers Isaac Hanson, Taylor Hanson and Zac Hanson went their separate ways for solo careers—and in Taylor's case, raising seven kids! Thankfully, our favorite bros reunited in 2018 for album String Theory and have continued touring since then.

Original NKOTB members were brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood. The year was 2002, the show was Popstars: The Rivals and the powerhouse vocalists were Sarah Harding, Cheryl (then known as Cheryl Cole), Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh. Girls Aloud recorded 20 consecutive top 10 singles and four number ones, including "Sound of the Underground," during their reign.
