Zaire Wade is in the midst of legal troubles.
The eldest son of former NBA player Dwyane Wade was arrested in Burbank, Calif., on June 21 after police were called to a local residence.
According to the Burbank Police Department’s daily arrest logs viewed by E! News, the 24-year-old was arrested for "domestic violence, criminal threats, false imprisonment and attempted murder.”
However, Zaire was ultimately charged with felony domestic violence, criminal threats and false imprisonment, the BPD confirmed to E! News. An emergency protective order (EPO)—a temporary restraining order issued to protect the victim—was also obtained.
After being booked, Zaire posted a $50,000 bail and was released later that day, with Burbank Police noting that no plea has been entered at this time. The department also confirmed that detectives will be presenting the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for filing considerations.
E! News has reached out to reps for Zaire’s family for additional comment, but has not heard back.
Law enforcement sources told NBC4 Investigates that authorities were called to a home in Burbank at 5:30 a.m. on June 21 after someone called 911 because they heard a woman screaming.
When BPD arrived, authorities said they found Zaire and an unidentified woman, who had lacerations on her face and body. Paramedics arrived to check on the woman, although she was not transported to the hospital.

At the scene, Zaire was arrested and law enforcement told NBC4 that a handgun was taken from the house after his arrest.
Zaire is the eldest son of Dwyane and his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches. The two also share a daughter, Zaya Wade, 19, whose step-mom is Dwyane’s wife Gabrielle Union.
After graduating from Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles in 2020, Zaire followed in his father’s athletic footsteps, playing basketball for the Salt Lake City Stars, a minor league NBA team,from 2021 to 2022. He then played for the South African team the Cape Town Tigers in 2023 before signing with the Macau Black Bears of the Asian Tournament in 2024.
