65 Questions I Had After Binge-Watching ‘Beef’ Season 2

The following article contains spoilers for Beef, Season 2.

After what felt like months—nay, years—of very little watercooler TV, 2026 has already given us much to chew on: Love Story, Euphoria, and, now Beef’s highly anticipated and starry second season, which arrived on Netflix this week.

As we know, Netflix tends to make all episodes of a season available to stream at once, which is excellent news for those of us who like to close the curtains at 4:30 p.m. and settle in for an evening of uninterrupted viewing and miscellaneous treats. Indeed, that is exactly how I consumed Beef Season 2—an experience that brought me highs, lows, and questions, so many questions. In fact, by the end of it, I actually had more questions than answers.

Here are the 67 queries I was left with after binge-watching Beef Season 2 in its entirety.

  1. Why does Austin behave like that at 29 years old?
  2. Why is everyone always eating chips in this show?
  3. Why did Troy randomly morph into Josh while he was speaking to him?
  4. Who is Carey Mulligan’s hair stylist? Because they’ve done a really good job.
  5. How did that plastic surgery patient die from a single laceration to the face?
  6. That $20 million festival slash resort does look quite nice, actually?
  7. Why did Ashley call Josh a boomer when he’s very obviously an elder millennial (Gen X at a push)?
  8. Why did Austin give that random rude woman the red Gatorade?
  9. What was that whole Gatorade exchange about, anyway?
  10. Why was that blonde nurse so villainous?
  11. Actually, what was the purpose of that whole hospital episode?
  12. What’s with all the ants and flies in the show? Is it saying something about “society”?
  13. Where do they live, exactly, because I kind of want to live there too?
  14. Why did Ashley use her own very recognizable car to drive up to the house she was planning on breaking into?
  15. Speaking of which, how did she know the invoices would be in that bag? Why were they just lying there?
  16. Why did Josh frantically demand to see the neighbor’s Ring footage to find Burberry, only to not even look at it properly?
  17. Why did that shopkeeper toss Burberry’s missing posters in the bin like that?
  18. Why didn’t Lindsay confront the shopkeeper when she saw her toss the posters?
  19. Why did Lindsay stop and smile wanly at that older lady eating pumpkin pie?
  20. How did Burberry even reach the hiking trail with those tiny legs?
  21. Why are rich Americans so corny?
  22. What was the point of the whole Hot Chip scene?
  23. Speaking of which, why were there so many random cameos? Benny Blanco? Finneas?
  24. Why did Lindsay so readily agree to give up custody of Burberry II when she was obviously the more enthusiastic parent?
  25. Why would they draft a divorce post when they’re not famous? Do regular people do that now too?
  26. Why did everyone keep praising Austin as a physical therapist when he wasn’t even trained and presumably wasn’t that good?
  27. What gift did Lindsay bring to the kid’s birthday party that “inflates in the heat”?
  28. If it was an inflatable, then why did she inflate it before wrapping it up?
  29. Also, why did that kid at the party keep thwacking Lindsay so violently with that snake?
  30. Why was Josh just standing there in the doorway of the sauna with all his clothes on?
  31. Why did Josh think giving Austin psychedelic drugs would convince him to delete the video? Was there not a more straightforward, less convoluted way?
  32. Why did Troy suggest “differentiation therapy” to Josh when that’s actually a type of cancer treatment?
  33. So did anything actually happen between Eunice and Austin or not?
  34. What was Eunice’s whole deal anyway?
  35. Does Austin wear anything other than hoodies?
  36. Had Ashley never ridden a plane before?
  37. Why did Lindsay pretend to be an American woman called Megan?
  38. Why did Lindsay flush the phone down the toilet? What was she hoping to achieve?
  39. Wasn’t it a bit deranged for Chairwoman Park to have arranged all of her crimes from her own iPhone, anyway? Could she not have at least got a burner?
  40. Why was everyone always trying to make people drink other peoples’ bodily fluids?
  41. Why did Josh snort so much Valium? Couldn’t he have just taken it in pill form, like a regular person?
  42. Also why does Josh even need that much Valium? I get that he can probably only get it up for OnlyFans now, but he’s in his 40s, not 80s?!
  43. How did Troy get his hands on the shady invoices, anyway? Like, why would he be looking into that?
  44. Why are Lindsay and Austin so fixated on having children immediately? Don’t they have a few things to figure out first?
  45. Why are the random plot points in this giving shades of And Just Like That?
  46. Why did any of them think it was a good idea to travel to Seoul in the first place?
  47. Why did Austin stare at that cup of coffee for so long when they were at Trochos?
  48. Why didn’t anyone tell Ava that she probably shouldn’t be getting plastic surgery there?
  49. Why did Dr. Kim ask Josh to punch him?
  50. Why did Lindsay, Josh, and Austin run from the guards in the middle of the road, in full view? Couldn’t they have tried the backstreets?
  51. How did Josh find Lindsay on the streets of Seoul? Isn’t it, like, a massive city?
  52. Also what was he hoping to achieve by going to Seoul? What was he going to do, fight Chairwoman Park?
  53. How many takes do you think it took to get that fight sequence at the end right?
  54. So they just left Ava in Trochos? I suppose she was kinda mean.
  55. Was it ever explained why Ashley hid the USB stick?
  56. If Austin could escape so easily from the roof, then why could none of the others?
  57. So Austin went back to Ashley because Eunice didn’t say “I love you” enthusiastically enough?
  58. I get that Ashley has abandonment issues but is there not literally anyone else she could have had a kid with?
  59. Why did the whole thing turn into a caper by the end?
  60. Who was in the grave that Chairwoman Park was talking to?
  61. While we’re on the subject, why did they just call her “Chairwoman” throughout? What was her actual name?
  62. Why did Josh need to know where Lindsay lived?
  63. So Lindsay got pregnant pretty much immediately after Josh was arrested?
  64. Does anyone else wish this entire series was just focused on Carey Mulligan’s character?
  65. I kind of wish she could be a character on The White Lotus too?
