Desperate singles beg ‘cute men’ to approach them at bars...
Fabiana Buontempo · 2026-06-21 · via New York Post

There’s no denying that today’s dating scene is wild.

As fed-up singles swipe endlessly on dating apps or hire pricey matchmakers to find their happily ever after, it’s fair to say that the days of meeting a potential suitor at a bar are long gone.

Two eager single women took to social media, validating that statement as they desperately asked in their now-viral video, re-shared on X (formerly Twitter): “Where are you guys meeting these cute men?”

“We go out to the bars every weekend and we only see cute guys in the run clubs, at bagel shops… at the grocery store, I don’t gotta talk to you at the grocery store,” one of the women complained. “The bar is the best place and they don’t go out.”

“Can y’all please start going out?” the duo pleaded. “I know you guys aren’t going to approach us at the grocery store or the run club.”

Expectedly, many men ran to the comment section to defend their kind.

“Women are SO annoying with posts going viral such as this, I have a whole laundry list of reasons why men don’t approach,” one argued.

“Women are literally hostile towards most men these days. They know it too, it’s just them yet again pretending not to understand things,” quipped someone else.

“We don’t want to waste money on girls who have no intention on wanting anything more then free drinks or dinner,” chimed in another.

“Because we’re labeled creepy a—–es…” another pointed out.

Some of the commenters do have valid points.

It’s a fact that Gen Z men don’t approach women out in the wild anymore due to their fear of being mistaken as a creep.

“I never want to make the other person feel uncomfortable, and l want to be respectful,” Ryan Kessler, 28, told The Post. “Some girls don’t want to be approached at all. So, I’m always trying to err on the side of caution.”

Despite wanting to soon settle down with a special someone, the cybersecurity analyst’s “interactions with women are very few and far between.”

“I don’t want to bother them,” explained the 28-year-old.
