The far-left’s primary wins: Letters to the Editor — June...

The Issue: Claire Valdez, Darializa Avila Chevalier and Brad Lander win in Democratic primaries.

What all three DSA winners in city House Democratic primaries have in common is that they hate our country — instead of being grateful for being here (“Latest lurch left in Mam’s NY,” June 24).

Darializa Avila Chevalier went as far as to say that she used our flag to wipe her herself. Many Americans gave their lives for that flag and the country it stands for. How can we send reps to Congress who are so opposed to everything we stand for?

Bill Isler

Floral Park

Three DSA radicals who abhor America and its traditions won primaries by a tiny proportion of Democratic voters — most of whom sat out. Hopefully, sane Democrats and Republicans will get off their couches and undo the damage in the general election.

Joseph Valente

I can’t believe that ignorant people are putting New York at risk of becoming something that I thought I would never see: a city with no respect for law enforcement, with criminals committing crimes and not even getting a slap on the wrist; budgets that are rising astronomically to fund idiotic proposals and exorbitant politicians’ salaries; politicians turning a blind eye to rampant anti-Semitism; and all of it chasing businesses that the city needs out of the state.

New York is becoming unrecognizable to decent and law-abiding citizens.

Veronica Kwiecinski

Thank you, New York — you have provided the rest of the country with enough laughter and craziness to keep us all in stitches for years.

Watching these elected officials disassemble the fabric of common sense will be the only thing to put a smile on your faces.

Open borders, no police, no prisons and free stuff that will be impossible to fulfill is all they can talk about, with no possible way to make it all work. Good luck!

Ron Heimer

Chula Vista, Calif.

So the far-left socialist candidates won big in New York. This is sending shivers down the spines of regular Democrats, who now sheepishly admit the party has been turned over to the left-wing loons.

The Democrats who want to take the party back have to do only one thing to rally the cause: embrace the well-established American ideals. If they don’t, the socialist left will soon tell them, “We will bury you!”

I wonder where that phrase came from?

Robert Lobenstein

Hubertus, Wisc.

The three Mamdani-backed, anti-American, antisemitic candidates won their primaries. These dangerous left-wing socialists must be stopped in the November elections. The same is true of the two radical winners in New Jersey House primaries.

Jerseyites and New Yorkers, stand up, and vote for the true patriotic candidates who will save our states, our country and our democracy — not destroy it.

Betty Schwartz

Livingston, NJ

The DSA: where the inmates run the asylum.

Paul Mathews

San Luis Obispo, Calif.

As cowardly Democrats sit silently, Mamdani has turned what used to be their party into the tip of the Marxist, socialist, antisemitic spear. Democratic candidates who trashed Israel, called for open borders, no jail, no private property and no deportation of illegal aliens convicted of even the most heinous crimes won handily.

Jim Soviero

E. Setauket

These victories of Mamdani-backed candidates in New York City primaries is further proof of the inadequacy of US secondary and university education. If voters had learned more history, they would be aware of the failure of socialist and communist governments in the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Cuba and North Korea.

Hopefully, New York’s voters will embrace reality before too much damage is wrought.

Fredric Jarrett

Sarasota, Fla.

I’m surprised to see that so many New York City voters agree to support and embrace communism over American patriotism and our country.

Robert Neglia

The Bronx
