He made a slice of history.

A manager at Domino’s earned the title of “World’s Fastest Pizza Maker” when he whipped up three large pies in less than 32 seconds.

Richard Delcid of Manassas, Virgina, was honored with the accolade at Domino’s World Fastest Pizza Making Competition in Las Vegas last month.

For his impressive 31.22-second pizza-making feat, Delcid won $5,000, a trophy and a championship belt, presented by Domino’s CEO Russell Weiner.

“This competition isn’t just about speed – it’s about delivering quality under pressure, just like we do in stores every day. Years of hard work and practice went into this moment, and I’m incredibly proud of what I accomplished,” Delcid told the restaurant chain.

The competition, which dates back to 1982, tasks participants with making one pepperoni, one mushroom and one cheese pie — by hand-stretching dough, and then adding sauce and toppings.

Competitors are graded on “dough/sauce, portioning of toppings and placement,” according to Domino’s, which operates over 22,300 stores around the world.

Delcid began his career at Domino’s — the world’s largest pizza company — in 2012 while he was in high school, as a part-time door hanger and customer service rep.

“It just took me off the streets,” he told WUSA-TV. “Not to hang out with the wrong crowds.”

He eventually moved up the ranks to become a general manager in 2015.

“There was just something special about him,” Robert Donner, who owns the Domino’s where Delcid works, told WUSA-TV.

“The World’s Fastest Pizza Maker competition celebrates the incredible talent and drive of our Dominoids who make the impossible look effortless,” Frank Garrido, Domino’s executive vice president, said in a statement.

“The speed and precision on display is nothing short of amazing and reflects the high standards we set every day. Our franchisees employ some of the best pizza makers in the world, and we couldn’t be prouder to name Richard our 2026 champion.”
