Well, folks, it’s nearly June, and that means 2026 is already almost half over. But rather than stressing about your New Year’s resolutions, career goals, or life-planning, Decider encourages you to use this as an opportunity to look back on the hottest sex scenes from 2026 movies thus far. That sounds a lot more fun than working out or bullet journals, doesn’t it?

This year in movies has been fairly horny so far, with Harry Lighton’s gay BDSM film Pillion doing a lot of the heavy lifting so far. (And yes, Pillion is a 2026 film, as it didn’t open in the U.S. until February). But we’ve also got Emerald Fennell to thank for her shamelessly thirsty adaptation of Wuthering Heights, and of course, our sex scene queen, Sydney Sweeney, who never disappoints.

1. The Housemaid

   OK, yes, technically The Housemaid came out at the end of 2025, but it didn’t come to streaming on Starz until 2026—and we here at Decider are all about streaming! Plus, the sex scene between Sydney Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar is way too hot not to be included on this list. Basically, Sweeney’s character, Millie, and Sklenar’s character, Andrew, have been feeling undeniable sparks. Unfortunately, Andrew is married to a very angry, very unstable woman (Amanda Seyfried). But on a fateful night when the wife is away, Andrew and Millie give into their desires. While we can’t show anything beyond the PG-13 version here at Decider, know that—despite some carefully placed limbs and precise camera work—you do, in fact, see a fair amount of nipple in this prolonged sex scene. Kudos to director Paul Feig for going there, and ensuring that The Housemaid earns its status as a true erotic thriller.

2. Pillion

   You better believe that the sex scenes in Pillion—a dark comedy about the world of gay BDSM sex—are explicit as hell. Although it is a synthetic replica, you see a lot Alexander Skarsgård’s massive penis, as his character, a leather-clad sadist named Ray, introduces the young, naive Colin (Harry Melling) to the world of kinky, dominant-submissive sex. It’s hard to pick just one sex scene—and quite a bit of it we can’t show here—but perhaps the most memorable is the scene where Ray and Colin wrestle in little outfits that leave all the sex-having bits exposed. And then, of course, they have sex. Britta from Community said it best when she said the real reason men fight is to release their pent up gayness! The movie is only available to buy or rent on VOD right now, but we expect it to stream on HBO Max eventually.

4. Wuthering Heights

   There are actual sex scenes in Emerald Fennell’s take on Wuthering Heights, a very loose adaptation of Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel, even if they aren’t as wild and explicit as the film’s marketing campaign hinted at. But to me the hottest “sex” scene of the film was when Margot Robbie gets herself off and then almost—but not quite—kisses Jacob Elordi. As Catherine and Heathcliff, Robbie and Elordi positively quiver with unresolved sexual tension throughout the first half of the film. No where is that more true than in the scene where Catherine, overcome by a fit of lust, rushes out of the house in the middle of breakfast. She doesn’t walk very far—just hides behind a nearby boulder, and begins to touch herself. Unfortunately, (or, indeed, perhaps fortunately), Heathcliff follows. He overhears her, and knows exactly what she’s up to. When Catherine realizes she’s been found out, Heathcliff lifts her up by the strings of her corset, and holds her, hovering mere centimeters from his mouth. Now that’s hot. And it’s streaming on HBO Max.

5. The Bride!

   If freaky Frankenstein sex (sorry, Frankenstein’s monster sex) is your thing, then you definitely want to check out The Bride streaming on HBO Max. Written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, this gothic romance is loosely based on the 1935 film Bride of Frankenstein and the 1818 Mary Shelley novel Frankenstein. Jessie Buckley stars as “The Bride,” a resurrected corpse of dead woman, and Christian Bale stars as Frank, aka Frankenstein’s monster, who was lonely and requested his very own corpse bride. And he gets it! They run off together and go on a sex-and-crime spree, Bonnie and Clyde style. Yes, there is nudity, and yes, you get to see exactly how far the ink splatters on Buckley’s body go. Does it still count as necrophilia if they’re both corpses?

6. The Drama

   The sex in Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s buzzy dark comedy, The Drama, is blink-and-you’ll-miss-it brief, but fairly explicit. Pattinson’s character, Charlie, is attempting to write his vows to his soon-to-be bride, Emma (Zendaya). He wants to find a way to “allude” to their sex life in the vows, he says. His buddy (Mamoudou Athie) wonders why he would ever want to talk about that in front of his family. We then cut to a five-second montage of Pattinson and Zendaya having very athletic, very enthusiastic, and very hot sex in a variety of positions. He even eats her out! Can you blame Charlie for wanting to brag about the amazing sex he’s having? This one isn’t yet streaming on HBO Max (expect to see it there around the end of August), but you can buy or rent it online.

7. Forbidden Fruits

   I was disappointed by the lack of sapphic sex in this one, considering it has the word “fruit” in the title. But at least there is a funny, sexy scene where Victoria Pedretti (The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor) gets down and dirty with a sales rep in dressing room. Bonus points for the one perfect shot of her held up against a wall, legs out like a doll, getting eaten out. It’s as silly as it is impressive! Directed by Meredith Alloway, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Lily Houghton, this horror comedy based on Houghton’s 2019 play. Riverdale‘s Lili Reinhart stars as a woman named Apple who runs a femme witch cult in the basement of a shopping mall. Her fellow cult members, or fruits, include Cherry (played by Victoria Pedretti), Fig (played by Alexandra Shipp), and a new member, Pumpkin (Lola Tung). Right now, you can only buy or rent the film, but Forbidden Fruits will be streaming on Shudder next month, beginning on June 26.

8. People We Meet on Vacation

   This long-awaited film adaptation of Emily Henry’s best-selling 2021 novel for Netflix was a bit of a let-down for book fans, sex-wise. Readers might remember a spicy sex scene between Poppy (Emily Bader), a free-spirited travel journalist, and her uptight BFF, Alex (played by the newest Hunger Games heart throb Tom Blyth). And while the movie does capture the characters’ big kiss in the rain—which is very hot—it’s followed by some very brief making out in a dark room, and a fade-to-black. Author Emily Henry later told Variety that a much longer, much more explicit sex scene was filmed, but ultimately cut in the edit. “In terms of the steamier stuff, I think it was a tonal question for me,” director Brett Haley told Variety. “we shot a scene that was literally, exactly what’s in the book, and readers know what that means. It, frankly, just didn’t gel with the film.” Boo hiss. But at least that shirtless kiss in the rain was really hot.
