Billionaire Stephen Cloobeck has denied the charges against him after he bailed out of a West Hollywood police station on Tuesday.

Cloobeck turned himself in on a felony charge of attempting to prevent or dissuade a victim or witness from testifying after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A spokesman for Cloobeck told The Post: “These charges are false and we look forward to our day in court.”

He turned himself in at around 11 a.m. Tuesday and was released at 1:17 p.m. on a $300,000 bond.

The circumstances surrounding the charges are unclear, or where the warrant was issued out of.

The billionaire founder of Diamond Resorts’ arrest comes after he harbored former friend Eric Swalwell at his California residence. Swalwell had faced intense scrutiny for several sexual assault or misconduct allegations.

Swalwell ultimately ended his gubernatorial campaign and then resigned from Congress.

He also lost his rich benefactor, Cloobeck, as a friend after he released an apology video from within the rich man’s 9,700-square-foot home.

“I was with my counsel and we had a chat with him, I just told him, ‘You busted the trust,’” Cloobeck said. “’I’m shocked, I’m disturbed and get the f—k out of here.’ Then I walked away and that was it.”

Cloobeck said he was shocked by the allegations.

“I was blown away!” Cloobeck raged to a KTTV reporter. “Like blown away. Like, there’s no way I would have endorsed him. It’s such a shock.”

The billionaire, who ran for governor briefly last year before dropping out to support Swalwell, has now said he’s a libertarian Republican.

“I am no longer supporting Eric. F—ing tell everyone I’m a libertarian. F— you, Democrat Party. I’m a libertarian now,” Cloobeck told the Post. 

Cloobeck previously ran for governor before dropping out in November of last year and endorsing Swalwell.

The eccentric billionaire has also been enveloped in relationship drama.

His 28-year-old bride-to-be, Penthouse Pet Adva Lavie, is facing six felony charges for allegedly preying on old men through dating apps. She’s wearing an ankle monitor as a condition of her release, which prevents her from leaving California.

Cloobeck previously told the California Post he still wants to marry her anyway, saying: “The marriage is still on, the date is now a secret.”

The ankle monitor will ruin any plans to have an international wedding. She’s tried to get it removed, claiming it will hurt her modeling career.

In a motion presented to the court, Lavie included racy modeling photos and letters from potential employers to illustrate that she couldn’t prance around in a bathing suit with an ankle monitor.

Morio Parker, the founder of the Ganja Collection calls Lavie “an indispensable asset to our brand” and goes on to say: “Her image is inextricably linked to our corporate identity.”

Parker points to an upcoming ad campaign and asks the judge to “remove the ankle monitoring and mitigate the irreparable damage being done to her career”.

“The presence of an ankle monitor would make the resulting footage unusable,” he says.

Her court case is expected to go to trial towards the end of May. If convicted on all counts, Lavie faces up to 11 years, eight months in state prison. It’s unclear when the wedding bells will officially ring, or where.

If convicted of the charge under California Penal Code 136.1, Cloobeck faces up to four years in prison.

The charge typically qualifies as a felony when it accompanies force or “an express or implied threat of force or violence, upon a witness, victim, or any third person or the property of a victim, witness, or any third person.”

It also qualifies if it furthers a conspiracy, if it’s committed by a person who has already been convicted under the statute, or if it is “committed by a person for pecuniary gain or for any other consideration acting upon the request of any other person.”
