What Time Is 'Abbott Elementary' On Tonight? How To Watch...
mliss1578 · 2026-04-22 · via New York Post

Ahead of Abbott Elementary‘s Season 5 finale, the unthinkable happened. One of TV’s greatest couples, Janine (Quinta Brunson) and Gregory (Tyler James Williams), called it quits after a fight over finances and vacation planning. So naturally, with two episodes left in the season, fans are eagerly waiting to learn if they’ll get back together!

Last week, “Night Out” saw Ava (Janelle James) and Erika (Courtney Taylor) take Janine out for a night on the town, while Jacob (Chris Perfetti), Caleb (Tyler Perez), and Gregory hit the club. Sadly, the well-meaning efforts ended with strong hangovers and deep despair. While Janine clearly wants to get back with Gregory, she’s hurt he didn’t fight for her when she ended things. And though Gregory misses Janine, he was taught that if a woman doesn’t want to be with you, you respect her wishes. So now what?!

Before the episode ended, Jacob and Ava joined forces in hopes of coming up with a plan that could get the “#4 couple in school” (and #1 Abbott couple in fans’ hearts) back together. So will Abbott Elementary Season 5 reunite Janine and Gregory in its final two episodes? Or will they end the season apart? You’ll have to tune in to find out! But read on to learn about a noteworthy Abbott Elementary time change!

Is Abbott Elementary on tonight, April 22? What time is Abbott Elementary on tonight? How many episodes are in Abbott Elementary Season 5? When is Abbott Elementary‘s Season 5 finale? And will there be an Abbott Elementary Season 6? We’ve got answers.

Is Abbott Elementary On Tonight (April 22)? When Is Abbott Elementary‘s Season 5 Finale?

Yes! Abbott Elementary is on tonight, Wednesday, April 22. But there’s a special two-episode finale, which means you’re getting a full hour of Abbott on ABC!

  • Season 5, Episode 21, “Ava & Fest” at 8:00 p.m. ET: “It’s Ava Fest, and Ava’s determined to make it her biggest yet.”

How Many Episodes Are In Abbott Elementary Season 5?

Like Season 4 before it, Abbott Elementary Season 5 will consist of 22 episodes.

Will There Be An Abbott Elementary Season 6?

While Abbott Elementary Season 5 wraps this week, rest assured that school will be back in session! On March 4, ABC renewed Brunson’s Emmy-winning comedy for a sixth season. Abbott was the network’s first scripted renewal of the season and still maintains solid Hulu and Disney+ viewership five seasons in. So it’s no surprise ABC wants more!

When Does Abbott Elementary Season 6 Premiere?

Since Abbott Elementary Season 5 is just ending an official Season 6 premiere date has yet to be announced, but based on network TV schedules past we can likely expect the show to return with new episodes in fall 2026. Both Season 4 and Season 5 ran from October to April, so Season 6 will hopefully premiere in October again! Stay tuned for more updates.
