For years, Bravo fans have been dream-casting Jersey Shore icon Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and even more so now that most of the cast, with the exception of Melissa Gorga, Teresa Giudice, and Dolores Catania, is being revamped with a new group of Jersey-based women. But Polizzi—who is gearing up for the final season of Jersey Shore Family Vacation on MTV—has no interest in trading in Ron Ron Juice for sprinkle cookies just yet.
When it was announced that Jersey Shore Family Vacation would end after its ninth season, there was a reignited sense of hope that Polizzi would make the jump from MTV to Bravo. “Snooki is actually the answer to RHONJ problems but they’ll never do it,” one X user wrote, while another one argued, “If K.Michelle can make the transition from Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta [to The Real Housewives of Atlanta] then Snooki might just have a shot.”
While Polizzi is years-long friends with Gorga—who made a cameo in Jersey Shore Family Vacation Season 8 when she attended Jenni “JWOWW” Farley‘s movie premiere—it sounds like Polizzi still will not be calling Andy Cohen up for a job any time soon.
“I feel like Housewives, like, they dig for dirty laundry and they don’t care,” she told DECIDER when she stopped by our studio to promote Jersey Shore Family Vacation with co-stars Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. “With us, I would never try and purposefully hurt my friends. I’m not down with that vibe. I’m a fan, but absolutely not.”
Giancola, a lifelong New Jersey resident who recently got married and had her first child, agreed that it would also be a “hard no” from her if she were ever asked to join The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
“We don’t intentionally try and bring up people’s personal [issues] or horrible things in their lives. We will not try and throw digs at each other and ruin each other’s lives, where I think, the Housewives, like you said, have a little bit more of people [digging] up dirt. Even though I am a huge fan of the Housewives…,” she said, while Polizzi chimed in, “That’s why I’m a fan, but I’m not gonna be involved in that.”
Even Sorrentino weighed in with his take, noting that the cast of Jersey Shore Family Vacation does the “exact opposite” of Real Housewives. “We protect each other,” he added. “There’s going to always be some disagreements within the group, but as a whole group, we sit down and try to solve it. [We don’t] hire private investigators to continue to attack each other.”
Of course, the possibility of mixing Jersey Shore and Real Housewives is something that Cohen—an executive producer on the latter franchise—has infamously shut down in the past.
“My only thing is that she is so identifiable with Jersey Shore and MTV. She built MTV reality shows,” he said of Polizzi during a 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live. “So, in my mind, I just thought it’s like putting a Kardashian on, like, another show that has nothing to do with it. It’s like two different worlds. That was my only thing. It was nothing personal.”
The final season of Jersey Shore Family Vacation premieres this Thursday, May 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
