Before
The original project consisted of:
ESP32-based prototype
Ultrasonic obstacle detection
Basic buzzer alerts
Breadboard implementation
Limited user interaction
Although the core concept worked, the project remained unfinished and lacked features needed for practical deployment.
What I Added
During the Finish-Up-A-Thon, I focused on transforming the prototype into a more complete assistive solution.
Improvements included:
GPS-based location tracking using the NEO-6M module
Emergency SOS functionality for caregivers
Guardian Assist monitoring platform
Improved vibration feedback system
Battery monitoring and power management
Enhanced hardware organization and enclosure design
Better software architecture and code cleanup
Improved documentation and project structure

The project evolved from a simple obstacle detection prototype into an integrated assistive mobility system capable of providing navigation support, emergency assistance, and caregiver connectivity.
