Young Washington, Angel and Wonder Project’s upcoming theatrical feature about the pre-Revolutionary War experiences of George Washington, will screen at U.S. embassies worldwide in a partnership with the U.S. State Department.

The film will get a national theatrical release on July 3, the weekend of semiquincentennial celebrations.

Young Washington is directed by Jon Erwin and stars William Franklyn-Miller, Kelsey Grammer, Mary-Louise Parker and Ben Kingsley.

Angel describes itself as a values driven media and entertainment company, with the Angel Guild, a community of 2.4 million paying members, or subscribers, who, in addition to accessing projects, vote on which films and TV series get produced and distributed.

The film will get a Washington, D.C. screening on Thursday at the National Portrait Gallery, where the partnership with the State Department will be announced and Assistant Secretary Jose Cunningham will speak, as well as Grammer and Franklyn-Miller.

Cate Dillon, assistant secretary of state for the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, said that the film “reflects a long tradition of creative works that engage global audiences and highlight the nation’s history and values.”
