EXCLUSIVE: The Investigation of Lucy Letby producer ITN Productions (ITNP) has named its new international boss following the exit of Ian Russell after a decade.
Chris Broughall has been promoted to Head of International and will focus on developing content for the U.S. market as well as seeking out opportunities globally.
He joined in November and has since overseen TNT’s When Soccer Came to America: Goals, Glamour and the Beautiful Game along with two developments that have now been greenlit, ITNP said. Broughall, a former Director of Development at Making Manson producer Renowned Films, will report into Caroline Short, who was recently upped to Head of Global TV. Russell, who held the role for a decade, overseeing international expansion and ITNP’s debut scripted feature Girl in the Video, exited late last year.
Along with plotting expansion in India and the Middle East, ITNP has been pushing into the States. Recent shows include He Said, She Said: Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni (5 / Max and discovery+) and Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy (Peacock, later picked up by ITVX ).
“Chris has made a big impact on our international slate in a short space of time. It’s a huge asset to have his dynamism and creativity driving our international slate,” said Short.
In addition, Prince Harry: The Interview producer Chris Hackett has been made series producer, having joined in 2022.
Broughall’s promotion is the latest job shift at ITV and Channel 4 news maker ITN. ITN, which runs ITNP, was earlier this month rocked by the sudden exit of CEO Rachel Corp, who was swiflty replaced by former ITNP boss Ian Rumsey. Rumsey U-turned on his decision to join rival producer Zinc Media Group.
