I can confirm that the Dell Precision 7770 (circa 2022-ish) with integrated Wi-Fi that is (was) disabled in BIOS, then sat for 5-6 months unplugged DID lose its configuration and when we plugged it in the BIOS was back to factory with Wi-Fi enabled.
The security guys coming into the SCIF was not what I wanted to have happen that morning...
